This book contains the best and essential of Barcelona with 22 original itineraries that will make you discover the city from different points of view totally interesting and entertaining. The idea was strolling in my mind for some time but I didn’t find, not the right moment but, the great way to do it. One day, I did and I started to write after reuniting all my ideas.

Moreover, the goal was to bring something new in the world of the travel books for Barcelona by using the basic rule of the hiking, telling the perfect way to go from point A to point B. Starting at the catalunya square (downtown), I will tell you the best street to walk for your first spot, then to your 2nd one and so on until to return to your starting point.

All of the actual travel books contain an itinerary section consisting of a map with different hot spots but they don’t tell you which streets to take, you will have to select by yourself but for someone who doesn’t live in the city, you won’t know the charming and beautiful ones.

As a local, my book, Barcelona Itineraries, The Urban Hiking, will tell you this crucial missing information because, although all streets will lead you to your destination, only one is more interesting than the others. Full of pictures and mini-maps, you won’t get lost and you won’t have any problem to identify the right monument, building… and if the itinerary is around the downtown, there is a full map too.

The book is divided in 5 main categories:

Theme itineraries, you will discover the city through different topics from its creation to the actual Barcelona.
Architect/Artist itineraries, you will discover the best monuments created by the most famous artists of Barcelona.
Movie itineraries, you will put in the shoes of your favorite actors to relive the most poignant moments of a movie and follow their steps through the city.
Literary itineraries, you will put in the shoes of the protagonist of a book created by the most famous catalan writers.
Complementary information, it is not an itinerary but it contains complementary information of all spots you will visit of all itineraries.

Its very small size (10,5x14,8 cm) will allow you to handle it in one hand and to bring it with you everywhere in your pocket. You can buy either the complete book or only the itinerary which interests you for only 1 euro.

Paper Format: 19,90 euros

PDF Format: 12,90 euros

The paper format will be sent by post and you will receive it between 2 and 3 weeks and as an environmental friend, I recommend to buy the digital format. Nowadays, majority of us have a portable device (smartphone, iphone, tablet PC, macro laptop, ipad...) and all of them read PDF file.

To impulse it, except the price and the fact that you can download it directly once the payment done, I made a small difference between both, the “complementary information” section of the digital format includes extra pictures, the paper format one is only text. Payment: I only accept online payment through PayPal.
Roman Itinerary: 1 euro Description: Barcino was the former name of Barcelona during the Roman period, you will walk in its street to discover 21 spots within its wall situated in only and unique neighborhood, the Barri Gòtic.
Medieval Itinerary: 1 euro Description: you will walk from 1 spot to another in order to discover in total 21 important points of the Middle Ages period. You will know the medieval area which built the actual Barcelona as a great city.
Modernism Itinerary: 1 euro Description: 17 great spots, full of different forms and colors built by the most important modernism architects as Antoni Gaudi, Lluís Domènech i Montaner... spread in the famous area called Golden Square.
Contemporary Itinerary: 1 euro Description: art is everywhere in the city which can be a building like the one done for the 1992 Olympic Games, a statue like the Venus in the Espanya Industrial Park, a tower like the Agbar and much more, in total 28 spots.
Montjuic Cemetery Itinerary: 1 euro Description: this cemetery is famous for its nice statues, monuments and mausoleums situated in the south-west side of the Montjuic Mountain with a great view on the sea so you will discover 13 beautiful sculptures.
Movie Itinerary: 1 euro Description: Barcelona has been the scene for many movies directed by great directors like Woody Allen, Pedro Almodóvar… you will discover 32 places which will bring you back memories of the most poignant moments.
